S&L Wild West Challenge I
Held by Shelly at S&L Stables on March 5th, 2011
THE CHALLENGE
Our challenge is to find the "best" ranch horse in Bunaidh!
HOW DOES THE CHALLENGE WORK
Throughout the course of the day horses will be tested in various aspects of ranch work, including the "typical" working western classes plus some unique classes based off classes sponsored by the American Ranch Horse Association.
Where it is needed, additional details are provided in the schedule listed below.
THE SCHEDULE
7:00am Cutting Challenge
8:30am Reining Challenge
-- Pattern will be announced no later than 8:00am
10:00am Tie-Down Roping Challenge
11:30am Ranch Horse Trail Challenge
-- ARHA Class: Ranch Horse Trail
LUNCH BREAK UNTIL 1:30PM
1:30pm Team Roping Challenge
-- There will be one judge plus electronic timing device to time the teams. Time will start when the calf breaks from the gate and ends when both head and heels have been caught. Two judges will evaluate the header and two judges will evaluate the heeler.
2:30pm Ranch Sorting Challenge
-- ARHA Class: Ranch Sorting
Each team will draw a number prior to their run and will have to sort the cattle starting with their number and moving in numerical order towards 9, then to the next if a number greater than 0 is drawn.
3:30pm Awards Ceremony

Are you interested in participating in this challenge? Per challenge, it is $1,000 per horse. Remember, horses will participate in each challenge.
Please sign up in teams of two - teams will be "split apart" for all challenges except for the team roping and ranch sorting challenge.
